sometimes things are so beautiful it makes my heart hurt. it's not that i'm severely materialistic. i just love beautiful things. i love looking at them, and i long to recreate the mood those pretty things portray in my own home. just like a romantic song can make you long for something...something that is so elusive...looking at pretty things often has the same affect on me.
i have my usual spots for browsing home items...cb2, west elm, ikea, urban outfitters, etc. i often stay away from anthropologie because the house items there are so beautiful and amazing...and expensive, that they make my heart hurt for more than one reason! simply put, the furniture at anthropologie are works of art. i literally have to put my hand over my heart when i look at that site in a gesture of reverence and awe.
we all ask the question, "what would i do if i were 'rich'?" well, one thing i would do is furnish my home strictly from anthropologie. my home would become a museum of gorgeous artwork. of course recreating the cracked plaster look seen in many of their set photos would be difficult. it's just not fair sometimes!
