i seriously have never had so much trouble decorating as i have when it comes to lula's room. the problem? a little girl's room can go in SO many directions! awesome color schemes, fun decorations, a million different styles to choose from! my head is constantly spinning.
thankfully i have her furniture and i love it. it's all old and dreamy with fancy wood. i also have to use purple according to lula, and since it's her room, i'd at least like to honor that request. i want her room to be dreamy and whimsical... sort of dark fairy tale-ish. she has three very bright windows in her room. so i can do something darker without the room turning into a dungeon.
ok... so i at least have some starting points, but there are still so many decisions to make. do i go with a violet blue purple, a true purple, or a more pinky plum purple? where do i put the purple and how much of it? should i use oranges and peaches to complement or dark blues and greens? should i wallpaper an accent wall, get a wall mural, paint a mural? oh how my head hurts!
i'm not really asking for advice. i've already driven my family and friends nuts with this quest. i keep having epiphanies... and then going back to the drawing board. maybe someday i'll figure it out!
Drink a big cup of coffee, turn on good music, and look at all of your inspiration (pinterest, blogs, magazines, ect) go with your gut...and then go do something dramatic. Let it settle...then do something else dramatic. Baby steps! It will all fall into place! Sometimes accidents are the best thing too! Random advice, but that's what works for me whether it's decorating, editing, or a craft project.
