my kids are finally playing together! we always knew it would happen someday and have been talking about how wonderful it would be, but it just never seemed like it would happen. now that diesel is 16 months old and more stable on his legs, he and lula started playing together just last week.
one day i was working on my computer in the kitchen expecting to be interrupted every few minutes. instead i worked for at least an hour with no interruptions! i was shocked, amazed, overjoyed. it's not that i don't want to play with my children, but i don't really feel like it's my job as a mother to entertain my children. they don't always realize that however.
of course along with playing together comes other issues such as refereeing, more crying, more skinned knees, etc. but i'm happy to deal with those issues. it was so fun to watch lu and d playing. they pushed each other on their little train, played catch, played ring around the rosy and chased each other while screaming through the house. there's something so lovely and wonderful about the two people you love most in the world (besides jay of course) playing together and loving each other. it's very, very sweet.
