as i've been documenting on instagram (@lulainlondon), over the last couple of weeks, we've had wood floors installed throughout the house. this caused quite a disruption to our daily lives, but hopefully this will be the last major renovation! the kids and i stayed at a friend's house while the floors were being finished. we were able to move back in this past friday. my mother-in-law graciously volunteered to help us clean the place up and get everything back in order. by "back in order" i mean we are able to live there without too much hassle. though things are not quite back to normal just yet!

our kitchen table has moved from the dining room to the kitchen area to the playroom and is now in the living room! i told a friend that next time she came it'd be out on the front porch!
i'm missing my island countertop and because the drawers and tops are missing from some kitchen cabinets, we've started using that open space as storage for our laundry, purses, fans, etc.!
our refrigerator is sitting in the playroom next to the piano. makes perfect sense!
and finally, our silverware and kitchen utensils are far away in the living room sitting in their drawers on top of the bookcase! all of this makes it very interesting when i need to make or get food!
on a good note... the wood floors are finished!
the toilet is back in on the main floor of the house. honestly this was probably the most stressful part of this whole ordeal!
and in the midst of all this craziness, i found this awesome painting and couch at salvation army. we named the little boy fred and i'm going to paint or decoupage an animal head on him for some lovely modern art! (thanks for the idea, grace!) the couch is now in the basement in our second playroom and will serve as some sleeping space when we have company.
