early one morning, jay and i briefly discussed what we were going to do with all of lula's art that was constantly floating around our counters and refrigerator. we came up with a quick and easy solution, jay immediately left for lowe's before 7:30am, and the problem was solved by mid-morning!
i kept asking him to take detailed pictures for this diy as i wasn't around to keep track of his progress, but he kept insisting it was so easy that there was nothing to explain or show! (oh, jay. he just doesn't understand how these things work!)
so here's what i can tell you.
1. choose a blank wall that needs some spicing up. we have several in our dining room.
2. buy some pegboard at your local hardware store and have them cut it to the size you need.
3. apparently pegboard comes with spacers and hangers for the wall. (this would've been a nice picture, jay!) so hang your pegboard with the given hardware.
4. then paint your pegboard if you so desire. inspired by a book from ikea, i've been wanting a hot pink (aka cerise) accent in the house somewhere. this seemed like the perfect spot.
5. also buy some pegboard hook hardware and bulldog clips on which to hang the art.
all done! lula was so excited about this display and so are we. jay spent the rest of the day tearing up the subfloor to get ready for new wood floors in the kitchen and dining room! we're getting close. oh so close!

Great idea...now you need a mini one in the kitchen for your recipes, grocery lists, coupons...etc.

jason painted one green and we put it in evie's playroom to hang her kitchen stuff on. also we found little baskets to hang from it to hold her art supplies. i love it

I always laugh when my hubby tries to document stuff because there seems to always be something that is missed in photographing! I do love the peg board idea...I have one of them in my laundry room with art I am working on but is not quite there yet. It helps me to see it hanging and my ideas flow easier than it just laying in a pile on the floor. But mine is still the boring brown-I see a paint job in my future!
