Amidst the lovely chaos of sleep deprivation, constant feedings, and loving on my sweet newborn, it's also time to plan Lula's birthday. I started thinking about it before Diesel was born knowing that once he was here things would be busy and I might not be as motivated. However, in my family, holidays and birthdays are a really big deal. It's ingrained in me and can't be ignored.
So while my mom was here, we started talking about how to make it special but easy at the same time. Of course, even in the simplicity it's my nature to complicate things! Jay is constantly annoyed with me because of this trait...to make things difficult if possible! Staying true to my nature, I couldn't just buy premade party invites...I had to make them myself. And because of the lovely chaos of my life right now, they're taking forever to make.
I totally stole the idea of decorating with fringe from Ashley Meaders because I love it and didn't feel the need to reinvent the wheel. So here's where we're starting...with the invites. I'll post more as plans come together and of course will post about Lula's birthday afterwards.

I LOVED her invites. They are so sweet and I love the mini fringe! Can I RSVP via your blog? Haha, I have a wedding that day, but we can come for a bit. Looking forward to it ;)

Sarah, I am the same way. Birthdays are a very big deal to me as well. I love homemade cards. I made Sammy's last year. I designed it on the computer with a friend. This year it's either going to be a guitar, train or basketball party because those are the 3 things he is into right now. I will design a homemade card for it. Love the invite you made.
